After months of preparation, Sweden Malaysia Innovation Days // FEYST11 put together 5 days of non-stop entertainment and featured over 500 youngsters who performed their homemade music, and played in competitive e-sports tournaments as well as casual games. On 9 May, an intimate live recording session took place at No Black Tie - Klang Valley's darling of live music, where 7 Malaysian singer songwriters - Jerome Kugan, Liyana Fizi, Reza Salleh, Bo Bedroom Sanctuary, Zalila Lee, Izzy Mohd and Dzamira Dzafri performed and then collaborated with their Swedish folk/blues friends, The Harvest. Over 100 people packed the cosy space in the heart of Changkat Bukit Bintang to listen to the live performance and made a part of an important audience for the live recording would be produced into a CD compilation by NBT Records and Doppelganger Industries to introduce our singer songwriters into the Scandinavian market later this year. The event came to a close with the Doppelganger Open Mic series held after the Sweden Malaysia Innovation Forum on Tuesday, 10 May with more performances by Angie Lym, Ady Suwardy, Bo Bedroom Sanctuary, Wani Ardy, Dzamira Dzafri and The Harvest. The organisers deeply appreciate all the assistance put forward by the Sweden Embassy to Malaysia and thank all involved. Watch this space as we announce more events in the next few months!
